Spiders

This drawing is a reiteration of an earlier comic - I gave the original to my grandmother for her 82nd birthday last week, which was fitting, as getting the idea of what would be "Haikomics" occured in her living room..

Anyway, the haiku itself was stolen and altered from an ancient haiku-ist (Buson, or Issa.. or something..), so again.. my originality still need some work.

Bry Bry's Angels

Okay.. remember when I said that  was finished with the J.F. Braun Haikomics? I lied.. THIS is the last one(Pending further lies). I'm still having trouble getting the motivation to do more serious comics with meaningful commentary... but this idea, I felt, was too good to pass up.

I dedicate the following Haikomic to the lovely girls no longer with us at J.F. Braun. You're all sorely missed.

Something to keep in mind..

By happenstance, I have a few of my grandmother's haiku books lying around, and one in particular (James Hackett's "The Way of Haiku") did a really great job of giving suggestions for writing haiku in English.

His final note was very profound, and also my favorite:
"17. Remember that haiku is a finger pointing at the moon, and if the hand is bejeweled, we no longer see that to which it points..."

I hope to shake some of my laziness and start Haikomicing again in the next few days. Hopefully, my new living conditions will give me some inspiration..

Grand Opening..

Not so grand, actually.

Once I figure out what I'm doing, and start developing worthy Haikomics, I'll get them up here.

What are Haikomics, you ask?

You'll just have to wait and see.
